I am an artist with a fine arts degree. I spent 10 years as a working artist in both juried shows and galleries. When our oldest was born, my art naturally began to include photographing him. It was a way to capture the simple moments that I didn't want to forget. As our family grew with the addition of number two, three, and then four children, my passion for capturing our family moments grew as well. As each of our babies arrived, I became acutely aware of how fast time goes by. Photographing them has been a way for me to slow time down a bit... to watch the world through their eyes, and capture each stage and new discovery.
Life can be so busy... I don't want to look back and think that I missed a moment... photographs are my diary of our children's lives, our family, and what we mean to eachother. Photographs are a family's story... moments captured in a way that no other medium does. Timeless and priceless... a way to keep those memories forever.
What I strive to give families are the same memories that I want for my own... a story about relationships, love and laughter... genuine smiles and thoughtful moments... these are the things that you cannot force, pose, or set-up.
When you come to my studio, you are coming to an extension of my home where you will feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed. Yes, believe it or not, a photo shoot should actually be fun... even and especially with small children! I love the fact that families leave my studio having a fun experience... after all great photos are even better if they have great memories behind them!
